Credible Messenger Mentorship
Mentees learn the power of positive person-to-person relationships in the journey to transform their lives. Formerly incarcerated individuals are credible messengers who conduct One-on-one Mentoring, giving young people grappling within the criminal justice system the benefit of wisdom gained through firsthand experience. This case management service is offered in partnership with the Yonkers School District; the Westchester County Department of Corrections; The Children’s Village – Woodfield Detention Center; and the Office of Family and Children’s Services.
One Step Ahead
Offered in partnership with Get Morganized LLC, One Step Ahead is a career-readiness and financial literacy program sharing insider tips on how to get a job and manage money effectively. Attendees will learn how to write a resumé and cover letter, along with other helpful advice such as how to create a powerful LinkedIn profile to stand out in a competitive job search.
Community Building & Life-Skills Circles
Evidence shows restorative interventions are effective in changing behavior and reducing youth recidivism. This initiative strengthens community and peer relations, builds accountability, teaches life-skills, and supports healing from trauma.
D.R.I.L.L. Talk
DRILL Talk Developing Real Insight Through Learning & Leadership (DRILL) offers one-hour interactive workshops focusing on life skills and leadership development. The curriculum draws on the experiences of credible messengers impacted by the justice system who understand what it felt like to be stuck in a dead-end environment and the kind of skills needed to get and keep a job.
Voices to Be Heard
A 12-week training session offered in partnership with the Yonkers Public Schools and Crowned Word Consulting LLC. Its objectives include empowering youth to use their voices and to create factual/logical, ethical, and emotional arguments that help them show up in the world confidently.
